How we came about

We were founded by Ricky Baker in 2019, who at the time was a 2nd year undergraduate children's nurse at the University of Worcester. Ricky was one of 50 healthcare students to be accepted onto the Council of Deans Student Leadership Programme 2019, where he met Zoe Carciente who is a 3rd year undergraduate children's nurse at Middlesex University. Together, they recognised the need for dedicated support for students that was tailored to their specific field of nursing. As such, Ricky led the project with support from several sources and the @CYPStNN was created on twitter. Starting as a small acorn, we continue to grow today, providing peer support to students from several universities, extending out to newly qualified children's nurses, right across the United Kingdom.
