How we came about

We were founded by Ricky Baker in 2019, who at the time was a 2nd year undergraduate children's nurse at the University of Worcester. Ricky was one of 50 healthcare students to be accepted onto the Council of Deans Student Leadership Programme 2019, where he met Zoe Carciente who is a 3rd year undergraduate children's nurse at Middlesex University. Together, they recognised the need for dedicated support for students that was tailored to their specific field of nursing. As such, Ricky led the project with support from several sources and the @CYPStNN was created on twitter. Starting as a small acorn, we continue to grow today, providing peer support to students from several universities, extending out to newly qualified children's nurses, right across the United Kingdom.

What we do

The CYPStNN has a vision to provide peer support to student children's nurses. In addition we provide ongoing support for newly qualified nurses who are making the transition from student to registered nurse. The wonderful team of curators volunteer their time to provide exciting new content and give a listening ear to anyone who may need it. Take a look at some of the ways we can support you during your studies below:

  • Blogs

  • Resources

  • Tweet Chats

  • Revision Topics

  • Medication quizes

  • Assignment support

And much much more... Come and take a look on twitter @CYPStNN

Ultimately, our shared knowledge as a community enables up to date and best practice to be achieved, creating a positive experience for the child and their family within the hospital and community environment.

With Thanks

Ricky, Zoe and the team here at CYPStNN would like to extend their thanks to all those who have supported the project along it's journey.
